Giant Danio

Giant Danio

$5.00Price

The giant danio, Devario aequipinnatus, is a large and active freshwater fish native to fast-flowing rivers and streams in India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. Known for its striking blue and yellow coloration with an elongated, torpedo-shaped body, this species can grow up to 4-5 inches in length, making it one of the larger members of the danio family.

Giant danios are highly social and thrive in schools, making them well-suited for spacious community aquariums with other similarly sized, active fish. They prefer tanks with open swimming areas and moderate water flow, and they do best in water temperatures of 72-82°F with a pH range of 6.5-7.5. As omnivores, giant danios enjoy a diet of high-quality flakes, pellets, and occasional live or frozen foods like bloodworms and brine shrimp.

Their bold colors, energetic behavior, and hardy nature make giant danios a popular choice for aquarists with larger tanks, especially those seeking a vibrant and lively species that brings movement and color to the aquarium.
